What are the conditions for SYAMCAT A126R pre-reduction ammonia catalyst reduction?
SYAMCAT A126R Ammonia Synthesis Catalyst: Temperature-Programmed Reduction
The SYAMCAT A126R ammonia synthesis catalyst is supplied primarily in the α-Fe form, featuring a protective FeO film on the surface. Prior to use, the catalyst undergoes temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) under specific conditions using H2-N2, converting the protective film into α-Fe and rendering it ready for application.
The reduction process for SYAMCAT A126R ammonia synthesis catalyst generally comprises three stages: initial reduction, main reduction, and final reduction. These stages occur within temperature ranges of 200-300°C, 300-440°C, and 440-500°C. It's worth noting that the exact temperature ranges and initial reduction temperatures may vary slightly based on the catalyst's particle size.
Table 1 presents the starting reduction temperatures, significant water evolution temperatures, and final water evolution temperatures for various catalysts, including SYAMCAT A126R.
